Final

We are so proud of the students from Menlo. They all did great work and really jumped all in all facets of what we did at Taos.

We refurbished three classrooms, restored a Orno oven, cleared rocks on a field so it can be mowed, painted trimmings, and also farmed. They experienced people from another place and learned about their culture. We ate ice cream and also went for a dip in the Rio.  I am sure there are many stories of night time cabin activities that they will also share.

Here are some pictures from our finished classrooms, Orno crew, and our finished Orno.

Robert Mirabal and his daughters also performed for us.

Day 3 Photos

Hey y'all! Ella here. I've been taking photos of the group for the past few days, and have finally uploaded and edited some of the pictures (the internet here is very temperamental). I wanted to share them with you, to send a little piece of Taos back to California. Everyone is doing well, enjoying both the company of their peers, the natural beauty of the pueblo, and the experience of another culture. I hope you enjoy!

Day Three

We worked on our projects today at the Pueblo. We drove down to the Rio Grande and took a quick dip in cold water and took an hour to rest up. We then went to an Elders house for dinner and Orno bread. We also spent part of the evening thowing hatchets at targets. Our student winner was Kaylie with three stuck hatchets.

We went on a night hike and watched the sunset. We are now playing Mafia.

I will post some pictures.
